Larry Lashkevich, Brigadier-General (Retired) OMM, CD, P.Log
Larry Lashkevich has served in the Canadian Forces and the Department of
National Defence for 41 years and has over 36 years of experience in Military
Logistics and in Defence Acquisition, Supply Chain and Materiel Management. He
has been actively engaged in the entire spectrum of Logistics planning,
execution and operational support for Canada's Armed Forces at home and abroad.
Larry Lashkevich has served at numerous Units, Bases and Headquarters in
Canada, Europe and the Middle East. He has held a variety of command and staff
appointments, with extensive experience in Joint Staff, NATO, United Nations and
bilateral/multinational activities.
Larry Lashkevich was the senior operational Logistics adviser in the Canadian
Forces as well as the senior Supply Chain adviser in the Department of National
Defence. He led the transformation of Logistics in Canada's National Defence
and was instrumental in the development of National Military Support and
Contractor Support Capabilities for the Canadian Forces that have been
successfully applied in numerous deployments around the world, including Bosnia,
Afghanistan and Sudan. He also played a significant leadership role in a
number of major Supply Chain initiatives, delivering key capabilities and
achieving recurring annual savings in excess of 80 million dollars.
In 2005, Larry Lashkevich retired from the Canadian Forces at the rank of
Brigadier-General and was appointed the Director General Materiel Systems and
Supply Chain in National Defence Headquarters. He was responsible for the
Business and Information System Requirements, Policies and Procedures, Standards
and Performance Measurement, Training Requirements, and national-level
Compliance Monitoring and Oversight for the procurement of equipment and for its
support, across the entire Canadian Forces and the Department of National
Defence
Leaving DND in September 2009, Larry Lashkevich became the Director of
International Business Development at Logistik Unicorp Ltd that provides
comprehensive, end-to-end integrated clothing and uniform solutions for a number
of Government and corporate clients, including: the Department of National
Defence, Canada Post, the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority,
Correctional Services Canada, Parks Canada, and Telus.
Larry Lashkevich has also been active in Logistics and Materiel Support matters
outside of National Defence, with other government departments, national and
international organizations and with other nations. He was President of the
Canadian Institute for Procurement and Materiel Management (formerly Materiel
Management Institute of Canada), is on the Advisory Board for the Bachelor of
Applied Business (e-Business, Supply Chain Management) Degree at Algonquin
College, and continues to have extensive contact with Defence leadership in the
fields of Supply and Logistics in a number of countries around the world.
A certified Professional Logistician (P.Log), Larry Lashkevich has been awarded
the Order of Military Merit (OMM) Canada and the Republic of Hungary Order of
Merit Knight's Cross.
